The Michigan Nutrition Network (MNN) at the Michigan Fitness Foundation facilitates the development of effective, high-quality nutrition education and physical activity promotion targeting people eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Through a competitive proposal process, Partners are selected each year to work throughout Michigan to implement SNAP-Education (SNAP-Ed) programming.
MNN requires Partners implementing cooking lessons or food tastings to be ServSafe certified. ServSafe is the National Restaurant Association’s certification for handling and serving food safely. The ServSafe training and course book help you understand the food safety risks you may encounter when working with food during cooking lessons and food tastings. It will provide you with the knowledge, skills and ability you need to manage food distribution to meet the highest safety standards. The training includes a refresher on the key ServSafe components and the opportunity to ask questions before the ServSafe certification examination is administered.
